GO LIONS!!!

Went to catch a footy match at the Gabba today. Atmosphere was great! Although the weather was a little cold, it was a good match. Supporters were supporting their respecting teams (Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne Kangaroos). Cheapest ticket was A$16.10, with free public transport to and fro the event.

Something about footy is that staff can just run into the pitch passing water-bottles to the players. If a substitution or certain instructions were is to be made, a 'runner' wearing a bright green coloured shirt will be running directly to the player and tell him directly. So in the whole during of the game, you can see greenies running around, staff passing water bottles. Exciting!

Match got into a little brawl in the final quarter. EXCITING!!! Fans were like 'urging' the players to fight! Hahaha. There were cheers as well as boos. Was sitting just beside the 'away fans' area. Was a little nervous actually, but they were a nice bunch. Chatting and laughing away with the 'home' fans. There was this Lions fan sitting in front of me shouting at every little opportunity. "Where's the replay?!""You B*****d!""What a team!" etc, etc. It was so hilarious! There was once when the whole stadium was chanting "Brisbane! (pause) Brisbane! (pause), and there was a word which came from somewhere behind which made the chant sound like.... "Brisbane! suck. Brisbane! suck." My friend and I were laughing our asses off! Haha. In the end, the home side won 70+ against 30+. GO LIONS!

After the game ended and players had left the field, the field is opened to public. A loud horn is sounded, and the gates are opened. Can see the crowd rush onto the field kicking their balls. Adults, children, everyone. Being 1st timers, my friend and I went onto the field wanting to take some photos. It was a tough time having to cross the field, trying to avoid getting hit. Amazingly, we managed to dodge the "Artillery" bombardments. Phew.

Overall, it was a terrific experience. Something you couldn't find in Singapore's National Stadium. The atmosphere, the fans, the beer, (Victoria Bitter is good). Next up will be the Suncorp Stadium. Home to the Brisbane Broncos Rugby team.

I found a single strand of white hair on my head. Hmm... my virgin strand!!! Haha... Might have been stressing too much these past few days. Week 3 starting. Beginning to feel the motor running. It's running.
