Flying

1.27am local time: I'm supposed to be sleeping right now. I was very tired and sleepy, and went to bed at 10.30 last night and was fast asleep when i was abruptly woken up at 11+ 12. I simply hate my room. Can't seem to lock any noise out. Walls are plaster-thin. Even with my door tightly shut, I can hear everything, everyword, every sentence, every story. My room is between the kitchen and the toilet. Whenever someone goes to pee, I can hear every single drop (and I meant every). Then came the flush! The flushing system in my toilet is pretty strong. At least it sounds strong. So everytime someone flushes, its like an alarm clock ringing. So can you imagine how many times i have to wake up in the middle of the night? Feels kinda sucky. But at A$100/week, what do you expect?

21.19pm: Few more minutes and it'll be thursday. Draft timetable for my final exams is out! 1st paper starts in a month's time. 2 papers to be exact. damn... 1 statistics and the other 1 is maths - ODE. Reaching the end of the semester, everything seems to be in a rush. Need to hand in this, hand in that! busy, busy! headache, headache! I can do it! YES I CAN!!!

Do you know?
Yoga can reduce stress and build muscle. Now researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle say it may even help you lose weight by helping you eat less. Lead author Dr Alan R Kristal studied 15500 peope aged 53 to 57, who reported on their exercise and weight history from their 20s onwards.
Normal-weight volunteers who practised yoga regularly (at least 30 minutes once a week for 4 or more years) gained 1.5 kg less than non-yogis over ten years. Overweight people lost over 2kg, and those who didn't do any yoga gained over 6 kg.
"Yoga makes you more aware of your body," says Kristal. "So when you've eaten enough, you're sensitive to feeling full, and this makes it easier to stop." Beginners should look for a class that teaches the fundamentals beore rushing through tougher moves.
